GTA3Freak-2001 – 1984-2011

Today we were sadly informed about the death of Chris Carrick, aka GTA3Freak-2001, one of the community’s longest standing and most respected members. Chris was 27 when he died on Thursday. He had a disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. In the words of Chris’s brother, Matthew.. Chris said: When he spoke about this forum it sounded like he played a big role

GTA Netcast Episode #3

Approximately two months ago, I pitched an idea to the rest of the staff here at GTANet: we should make a podcast. It took a few weeks to get underway, but we finally got around to recording our first episode. (It was crap.) So we gave it another try… and it was better. Now we’re going even further with the third

Screenshot Gallery Additions

Rockstar have sent us the screenshots that featured earlier this month on EvilAvatar and MTV. You can view these screenshots – in addition to over 200 other screenshots – in our gallery. Thanks Rockstar!

GTA4.NET Multiplayer Section Launched

In anticipation for the extensive coverage we expect to see within the next few weeks, we’ve decided to launch our Multiplayer section a tad earlier than planned. This section of the site is currently a mixture of both confirmed details and speculated details; as time goes on, however, we’ll build up the Multiplayer section to be much more thorough and complete. We

GTAGarage v1 is closed for submissions, v2 announced

We’re pleased to announce development of the new updated GTAGarage, that is aimed for launch later this year. Due to technical difficulties that arised while synchronising our new servers last year, along with a lack of sufficient bandwidth, our upload feature has remained out-of-action since Autumn 2007 – we would like to apologise to all our dedicated modders for the

GTA4.Net Progress

Incase you haven’t already noticed, two new links have been added to the navigation at the top. We now have dedicated pages for Missions and Vehicles. Our Missions page summarises everything we know so far about the missions in Grand Theft Auto IV, and contains dialogue from the two missions (“Final Interview” and “Call and Collect”) previewed by the gaming press last year. Our Vehicles

Community Project: Mapping Liberty City

This map shows a small area of Broker, Liberty City. It is deduced entirely from what is revealed in screenshots and trailers, and therefore is mostly accurate but not entirely accurate. It was produced by the combined efforts of the GTAForums community. See this thread for more details, and feel free to post your own contributions. “Move up, ladies” – New GTA IV trailer goes live!

The third GTA IV trailer (which was announced last Wednesday) has been released by Rockstar Games. You can watch it here (below) or head over to the official GTA 4 website. Be sure also to check out IGN’s trailer Q&A with Rockstar. We have updated the trailers page to include the new trailer, and we have also added a collection of stills to the screenshot gallery. Keep

Server move

GTANet has just last week moved to entirely new servers. Almost all sites have sprung back up since the move, however due to reorganisation of images & downloads, all users will find they are greeted with a 403-Forbidden error when downloading from GTAGarage. Screenshots will also return the same error, and therefore none can be viewed anywhere on the site.
