It’s that time of year again, folks!
GameBlast, an annual gaming marathon in aid of SpecialEffect, has returned for 2022! Our friend Vinewood Motors and his crew will be hosting a 24 hour livestream on February 26th from 4am GMT, and we hope you can join us in sharing our support.
If you’re not aware, SpecialEffect is a UK-based charity that is very close to Rockstar’s heart; it’s an organisation that specialises in the crafting of devices and solutions to help people with physical disabilities play video games. Their research and support is paramount to ensuring inclusive and accessible gaming for those who need it.
This will be the fourth time that Vinewood Motors’ has hosted a livestream in benefit of the charity, and Rockstar have supported the crew’s endeavours since the beginning, promoting the streams on the Newswire, donating prizes, or joining in for a session or two of GTA Online. Over the years, through the support of a generous community, a whopping £10,999 ($14,909) has been raised. For 2022, donations are sitting at almost £1,600 already! Massive kudos to everyone who has participated so far.
So, if able, please show your support and donate as much or as little as you want over on the crew’s JustGiving page. If you donate £10 or more, your name will be put into a sweepstake and you’ll have a chance to win some very awesome Rockstar collectibles and merch that have been donated from the community and Rockstar themselves.
Not all support has to be monetary of course; if you’re not able to donate at the moment, that’s OK! Feel free to follow Vinewood Motors on Twitch and other social media linked below, chat on stream during the event, share tweets and spread awareness about SpecialEffect whenever you can!
