| As part of Spike’s 2012 Video Game Awards, which took place on December 7, Grand Theft Auto V was announced as the winner of the title of Most Anticipated Game of 2013. Unlike other categories at the Video Game Awards, GTA V won this title by being voted upon by the viewers, rather than being chosen by the twenty-five member advisory council. With the win, GTA V beat several other high profile upcoming titles such as BioShock Infinite, South Park: The Stick of Truth, The Last of Us, and Tomb Raider.
