GTA San Andreas continues to thrive in the gaming industry, winning 5 of the 19 prizes on offer at the Golden Joystick awards in London this week. The following categories were won: PlayStation 2 Game of the Year BBC Radio One – Colin and Edith’s Best Game Soundtrack of 2005 Hero of 2005 (CJ) Villain of 2005 (Officer Tenpenny) Nuts Magazine’s Ultimate
None of the 4 categories that San Andreas was nominated for at the Game Developers Choice Awards won Rockstar an award. GTA San Andreas was nominated for best game, audio, game design and writing. The GDC awards are unique in the industry because game developers get the opportunity to award each others’ work, instead of consumers voting for their favourite. Big winner
Last month we reported that San Andreas had been nominated for Game of the Year, Best Performance by a human male (Samuel L. Jackson – Officer Frank Tenpenny), Best Action Game, Best Soundtrack and Designer of the year (Sam Houser and Rockstar North).
