It has been around one and a half months since GTA V’s debut trailer but since then Rockstar Games has been tight-lipped on giving away any new information.
Multiple magazines and publications have featured the GTA V logo on their front-pages and made claims about having “new info”, though these articles have mainly been trailer analysis and speculation.
Game Informer has been the only publication to get even a snippet of information, asking a question during an interview about Rockstar’s other big upcoming game, Max Payne 3:
“Game Informer: You just released the GTA V trailer. Can you talk about that project in any respect? Obviously, it looks like it’s going back to San Andreas.
Dan Houser: I’ve got to be real careful here, or they will drag me through the office and whip me with barbwire. I will stick to exactly what’s in the press release. It’s Los Santos and the surrounding countryside – and a very big map.”
While overall it is a reiteration of the press release, it’s the first time the map size has been described, following the slightly less specific “…largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created” quote from the press release.
No release date or platforms have been announced for GTA V though it is most likely to be released in 2012 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
